A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to invalid email addresses under the very same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from buddies or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be amazingly easy if you have a cloud hosting plan with us. You can activate this option through our advanced, yet easy-to-use Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will administer the shared web hosting account itself. You will see all the mailboxes that you’ve set up enumerated in alphabetical order and on the right side of each one of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly tell you if a certain mailbox receives all the emails for a given domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature at any time. In case there is active email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you will receive a warning note from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to set up a catch-all email mailbox without any effort even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each email address that you’ve created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will notify you if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you decide that you don’t need the feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
