Transferring a domain name from one registrar company to another typically involves the use of a special transfer authorization code, which different registrar companies call an EPP authentication code, a domain name password or an Auth-Info code. This code can be used as a security measure against unauthorized transfer attempts with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. It can be obtained only by the domain name owner and is provided by the current registrar. It must be given to the new domain name registrar company because the transfer procedure cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and usually contains digits and special characters, so as to prevent unauthenticated people from cracking it. Some domain registrars even change the codes of domain names registered through them after a certain period of time for even better security.
EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting
If you’ve got a cloud hosting plans, you’ve registered a domain name with our company and you would like to transfer it away from us, you can get its EPP transfer code with less than a couple of mouse clicks. When you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you have registered with us displayed alphabetically. To the right of each domain, you’ll see a mini EPP icon for all generic and country-code top-level domain name extensions that require a code in order to be transferred between domain registrars. Clicking the icon will send the code to the registrant’s email instantaneously. In the exact same section you can also find and ultimately edit the email address, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
You can effortlessly obtain the transfer code for any domain name registered under a semi-dedicated server account if you decide to transfer it. This can be achieved through the same Control Panel, via which you manage your account, so you will not have to switch between different admin panels. All you will need to do is visit the domain management section of the Control Panel and click the EPP button for the domain name that you wish to transfer, on the condition that its extension supports transfers with such a code. Our system sends all codes automatically to the domain owner’s email address listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record, so if the address that is currently listed is outdated, you can change it with a couple of clicks of the mouse without needing to leave the domain management section of the Control Panel.
