Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-code TLD is really popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. Because dot IT domains are not registered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level extension, such a domain can be bought through a third-party registration provider, such as ours. As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
